In the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems Interface Specifications (ADASIS) Forum, representatives of the automotive industry are working on the development of future standards for access to predictive road data. The goal is to simplify the development and use of predictive map-based driver assistance systems. In 2018, the most recent ADASIS v3.0 specification was launched, which supports provisioning of more detailed information based on high-definition maps to enable automated driving. The members of the ADASIS Forum include car makers, ECU suppliers, and vendors of navigation systems and digital road maps. Predictive map-based driver assistance systems have the potential to considerably reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions and increase vehicle safety.
