The ZETA-GEP-LTE4 (EU) is a cutting edge, low power industrial modem with general purpose interfaces. It will connect equipment to the European LTE Cat 4 network and provide backwards compatibility to the existing European 3G / UMTS and 2G / GSM cellular networks. The modem has a full global GNSS receiver which supports GPS, Glonass, BeiDou, QZSS and Galileo and operates in a low power state which makes it ideal for use in industrial IoT applications today and for long term future developments.
The unique feature of the ZETA-GEP-LTE4 (EU) allows it to run in a low power state due to its intelligent power saving design whilst monitoring general purpose inputs and driving full specification outputs. Additionally the range offers interface options including legacy RS232 for connection to existing equipment and a high speed USB interface.
The multi-function header also offers the following interfaces to the user:
- 3 x General Purpose Inputs (0V-42V tolerant)
- 2 x General Purpose Outputs (0V-42V @ 1A)
- 1 x Analogue to Digital Interface (0-42V range)
- 1 x RS232 debug serial port (3-wire interface)
- 1 x Peripheral Power Interface / Output Supply (Vcc)
The powerful C development environment reduces redundancy and lowers system component costs, allowing developers to maximise the power of their application directly on the device and eliminating the requirement for an external microcontroller. The application programming environment can provide cloud edge processing for interfacing to equipment in the field and offers the ability to make intelligent decisions without requiring a permanent online connection to a gateway server.
As a result the ZETA-GEP-LTE4 (EU) lends itself to rapid proof-of-concept developments with minimal investment, providing fast time to market and maximum scalability offering intelligence and decision making at the cloud edge.
The ZETA family of industrial modems has built up a solid reputation as a low cost, low power, reliable and dependable modem which has been established over a number of years.
